Taking care of football shirts
Vintage shirts are delicate. Don’t use high heat during washing/drying.
Washing your shirts
Mixing colors when washing is a no-go, as it can lead to irreversible damage.
The ideal way to wash your vintage shirt is by hand in cold water. You can use the washing machine but ensure it is tap cold.
Use a mild detergent and skip the fabric softener, as it can harm the fabric.
While your vintage shirt may have care tags with washing and drying instructions, it’s recommended to disregard these, as care requirements evolve as shirts age.
Drying your shirts
Similar to washing, avoid modern drying methods. Let the shirt air dry.
Excessive heat can damage both the fabric and the print.
For drying, hang the shirt on a hanger or lay it flat where possible.
